Three-step
Dynamic Stereo Sampling (DSS) Advanced Wave Memory (AWM) tone
generation
Advanced Wave Memory (AWM)
tone generation samples each instrument to generate a truly accurate
sound, varying the volume and timbre of sound according to the touch
on the keyboard. Three-step AWM takes this farther, to assure a
warmer, more natural sound, with Dynamic Stereo Sampling (DSS) piano
samples. The samples are recorded at different levels, from loud to
soft, so that differences in volume and timbre occur depending on
how heavy or light the player's touch is. By using sound picked up
by a microphone to create a virtual soundboard, the keyboard assures
an expansive, more natural sound.
Stereo
sustain samples and key-off samples
Stereo sustain samples
recreate the resonances of the strings and soundboard when the
damper pedal is pressed. This resonance is one of the factors that
give a grand piano such a unique sound. Key-off samples provide the
delicate sound keys make when they are released.
88-key
grade-weighted Keyboard
The keyboard uses a weighted
mechanism and grade-weighted keys which grow gradually heavier from
the top of the keyboard to the bottom, exactly like a grand piano.
Unlike conventional digital piano keyboards that use springs or oil
dampers to simulate a piano feel, the keyboard uses weights and
mechanical linkages to achieve outstanding realism.
Real-wood
white keys
The Keyboard uses real
wooden white keys like those found in acoustic pianos. And just like
an acoustic piano, the key weighting gets progressively lighter
higher up on the keyboard, for a feel that is virtually
indistinguishable from that of an acoustic piano. Sensors under the
hammers and cushions process damper on/off and hammer velocity
information accurately interpreting the performance of even the most
demanding pianist.
64-note
extended polyphony (max.)
Conventional digital pianos
quickly run out of notes during fast, dense legato passages:
sustained notes are cut off as the instrument steals notes to make
room for new notes. 64-note polyphony allows 64 notes to be played
at once.
28 voices
Different voices provide a
broad range of sonic options.
Two-track
song recorder
Use the built-in song
recorder to create two-part arrangements one instrument at a time.
Digital
reverb and digital effects
The built-in digital reverb
simulates the way sound is reflected from the floor, walls and
ceiling to add more depth and life to the sounds of the Clavinova.
Chorus, tremolo, symphonic and delay effects add greater richness
and harmonic content to any voice. The brilliance effect makes it
possible to continuously adjust the timbre of a voice, from mellow
for laid-back jazz piano, to bright for cutting rock piano.
Dual mode
Dual mode allows two voices
to be played side-by-side. For instance, strings and piano can be
combined. When playing staccato, the piano voice is heard. Playing
legato will generate string tones, adding depth to the performance.
Split mode
Split mode allows two
separate instruments to be played at once, one with the left hand
and one with the right, providing a duet effect. Simply choose the
instruments. For example, bass can be assigned to the left hand and
jazz piano to the right.
50 built-in
demonstration piano songs with sheet music
Listening to and studying
demonstration songs make it easy to learn to use the features of a
Clavinova. Sheet music for the built-in demonstration songs is
included.
Seven
temperaments
Choose from the selection of
seven temperaments (Equal, Pure Major, Pure Minor, Pythagorean, Mean
Tone, Werckmeister and Kirnberger) to match the period of the music,
or to experiment in a modern context.
MIDI
connectivity
Full MIDI connectivity makes
it easy to connect to other MIDI devices or PCs. Use PC sequencing
software, play back songs downloaded from the Internet, move MIDI
files to the PC for emailing, and more.
PC
interface (TO HOST)
Connect the keyboard to a
Windows or Macintosh personal computer via the PC interface using a
single cable, without the need for costly additional hardware. The
PC interface makes it possible to download the Clavinova's voices
and store them in your PC, and allows 3rd-party sequencing and music
instruction programs to work with the Clavinova.
Dual
headphone jacks
Dual headphone jacks allow
two people to practice at once without generating any sound that
others can hear.
Music rest
A music rest makes it easy
to secure music books and scores.
Metronome
A built-in metronome makes
it easy to keep track of tempo.
Three foot
pedals
Three foot pedals function
exactly as they do on an acoustic piano.
Woodgrain
cabinet
An attractive woodgrain
cabinet with an elegant finish looks great in any home.
40W x 2
amplifier
Powerful amplification with
clear, crisp sound. |
